About Oliver Farms
Started in 2012, Oliver Farms is an all natural grower and distributor of fresh local vegetables and herbs. Oliver Farms is a sustainable food project of Master Chef Alfonso Contrisciani and is located on 70 acres in Thornville Ohio in Perry County. The farm is also a producer of signature spice blends, home-style sauces, and condiments. As a local food haven in Southeast Ohio, Oliver Farms showcases fresh organic and all natural foods, and chemical free upscale culinary products. Recently, Oliver Farms launched a premium line of registered Berkshire Pigs, fed a diet of all natural, non GMO feed.
Oliver farms also represents and distributes locally grown non-GMO pork, chicken & beef from other farms in central Ohio. A full line of sausages, cured bacon, charcuterie is currently underway.
Meet Chef Alfonso Contrisciani
Chef Alfonso Contrisciani is a man of many professions: chef, farmer, advocate, and educator are only some of the hats that he wears. For the last 35 years, he has worked in various food industries. He is a Certified Master Chef, past captain of United States Culinary Olympic teams, and has managed numerous luxury hotels, and casinos. He was a chef at the Washington DC Convention Center, putting him in charge of all Presidential Dinners, Military Conventions, Dignitary Dinners, and Inaugural Balls.
Chef is currently the Director of Hospitality School at Hocking College, teaching baking and pastry classes; garde manger; meat, poultry and seafood fabrication; and capstone classes. He is also the president of the Somerset Farmers Market Cooperative, the anchor tenant, and manager of the Perry County Community Kitchen and Farm Store. Alfonso owns Plate Farm to Table Catering in Southeast Ohio and is managing Director of Rhapsody, Hocking College’s practicum training restaurant.
